Why it matters

A live exhibition about Budapest's recent history - in the underground system's nooks and crannies

What happens

The Budapest underground is an actual blueprint of local urban history. Slow down underground, aka "metró," and learn the fascinating story of this hidden world! We evoke the Austro-Hungarian period when Budapest urbanized at an unprecedented speed:  we even cut the ribbon at the inauguration of the first underground line of the continent! We climb into a more than hundred-year-old underground carriage, explore the dark legends of the Cold War constructions, and find out how the architects of the most recent metro line sneaked puzzles and contemporary art pieces underground. Join us on an exciting underground adventure, where we explore the four metro lines of Budapest.

Adventure for those who like to sit down on a walk!

Main sights:

  • Heroes Square
  • Budapest Keleti Railway Station
  • Kálvin Square
  • Deák Ferenc Square

We organize a private tour for 750 EUR+VAT for a maximum of 20 people. The participation of every additional guest costs 32 EUR+VAT.
The maximum number of guests is 25.
