Budapest emerged as a key hub of the Monarchy, with impressive representative buildings to match its significance. On this tour, we'll explore some of Budapest's most photographed landmarks while providing the historical context that inspired their creation.

We will begin our journey in front of one of the most significant parliament buildings in the world, where we will learn about the fascinating history of this neo-gothic structure, as well as why a contemporary writer compared it to a "Turkish Bath." Next, we will proceed to Szabadság (Liberty) Square, a charming, semi-hidden green space in downtown Budapest that was once home to a vast military prison and later transformed into the city’s first public park.

We will delve into 19th-century shopping habits at the beautiful Hold Market Hall and visit Saint Stephen's Cathedral, one of the most iconic buildings downtown, which houses the right arm of Hungary's first king.  Our tour will also take us to the historical Hungarian State Opera House. Finally, we will conclude our tour at the stunning Napoleon Court, known for its breathtaking, colorful windows.
